Dr Grund appointed Visiting Professor at University of Manchester

Dr Thomas Grund (UCD Sociology) has been awarded a prestigious Simon and Hallsworth Visiting Professorship at the University of Manchester. Thomas will visit Manchester a few times in 2017 and 2018 to work on a project on social networks and domestic violence. He is hosted by Prof David Gadd at the School of Law and Dr Elisa Bellotti at the School of Social Sciences. Congrats!

Book on Shklar in the news

Associate Professor Andreas Hess is in the news regarding "Trump's immigration crackdown". Vox Media - one of the biggest digital media networks in the US -  have used the biography of Judith Shklar written by Andreas Hess as a hinge in a news story about refugees, Trump, and how to avoid cruelty. New collaboration with the Department of Children and Youth Affairs on criminal networks

Dr Thomas Grund from the School of Sociology is now scientific consultant for the Department of Children and Youth Affairs on a research project about "the influence of criminal networks on children’s offending behaviour in Ireland". More about this research on criminal networks in Ireland conducted by Dr Redmond and previous findings here.
