Our staff member Associate Professor Grund was invited to teach an "Introduction to Social Network Analysis in Stata" to the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. The JRC is the European Commission's science and knowledge service centre and provides direct input to EU policy. Dr. Grund has written and maintains a software package for social network analysis in Stata that is used by over 40 000 people worldwide. Nice to see our staff members having an impact!

The School of Sociology welcomes Professor Randall Collins
The School of Sociology was delighted to welcome Randall Collins this week, who participated in the Sociology of Randall Collins Workshop on Tuesday and also launched the new book by Steven Loyal 'State Power and Asylum Seekers in Ireland' yesterday evening. Today Prof. Randall Collins will be awarded an honorary PhD from UCD.
